Abstract:
An Arctic sea ice thickness record covering from 2010 to 2016 is generated by assimilating satellite thickness from CryoSat-2 and Soil Moisture and Ocean Salinity (SMOS). The model is based on the Massachusetts Institute of Technology general circulation model (MITgcm) and the assimilation is performed by a local Error Subspace Transform
Kalman filter (LESTKF) coded in the Parallel Data Assimilation Framework (PDAF).
Comment:
The sea ice thickness data (V1.0) are provided north of 65N, starting from 2010-10-01 and ending on 2016-12-31. Note that the record on 2016-12-31 is just the duplication of 2016-12-30, as we did not have the ensemble atmospheric forcing on 2017-01-01, when we did this work at that time. There are 5 records missing also because of the forcing, and they are linear interpolated between adjacent records.
